Our Story
We the Equatoria Community of Windsor and Essex County, aware of the need to promote our unity of purpose amongs ourselves consciuos of our cultural values, religious beliefs in accordance to all the duties and responsibilities required of Canadian Citizens.
Purpose of The Community
- To poster unity of purpose, natural cooperation and understanding among all Equatorian in Greater Windstand Essex County
- Organize events that will encourage and promote cultural activities such as Equatoria cultural Day that is held every year, cultural activities such as storytelling, teaching of our Equatoria languages and traditional dance.
- Provide children with Afterschool programs such as tutoring, homework, organizing sports activities eg badketball, soccer and other activities to made our children busy
- Involving our children with community general cleaning in collaboration with City of Windsor
- Provides our Equatoria Women’s with skills such as computer literacy tailoring and others so as to be self sufficient
- Assist our Equatoria people back home in case of natural and man made disasters.
Promote unity among Equatorians. Preserve language, stories, and dance. Support children and women with practical programs. Provide aid to people back home during crises.
A strong, self-reliant Equatoria community in Windsor and Essex County. Children who thrive. Women who lead livelihoods. Culture passed to the next generation.
